Happy birthday to Luke, my nephew – born this morning sometime around the crack of dawn.
Congrats to my sister and her husband on the safe delivery of the new guy.
And as for you, little dude – fair warning: It’s a big weird world. You’re in for one hell of a ride.

I love babies. In fact delivering babies, altho I don’t like the actual process of doing it, is still the most positive part of my job. I’m a Paramedic.
I’m uncomfortable with how painful the birthing process is though, and I never can understand why most men stand around acting like THEY’RE the ones feeling uncomfortable about the whole thing.
I always say ‘I understand your discomfort but believe me, no matter how uncomfortable it is for you, your Partner is feeling at LEAST as much pain as you are.’
Recently, a guy fainted when his girlfriend went into labor. She said ‘Big help he is.’
They were extremely young. They still don’t even see how this new addition is going to change their current lives.
Babies are wonderful, but they’re also one of the biggest responsibilities you’ll ever have.
