Happy Ganymede Day!
Posted on | 1 year, 8 months ago, in the morning | 9 Comments
It’s finally here! Ganymede officially hits stores – and e-readers, and online retailers – today!
And I do very much hope you’ll take a chance on this, my fourth Clockwork Century novel,* set in my alternate history universe with a drawn-out American Civil War complicated by a peculiar form of zombie uprising!
I have more fun with these books than should frankly be allowed, and if you’re interested in diving into the series, this is as good a place as any to get started. Would it be somewhat helpful to have read the others first? Sure, I guess. But each of these stories is written to let people read along without feeling too lost.
This is a franchise more than a series, so please don’t be put off by the prospect of not being all caught up with the other stories yet. If you dig pirates, airships, Victorian submarines, espionage, zombies, and ass-kicking … this might well be the book for you!

Man, I dipped into the exclamation marks again. Well, can you blame me? I’m so terribly excited about this one! Now I just have to run around all over the internet, updating my websites and widgets and information, oh my …
Thanks for reading, everyone, and if you take a chance on this weird little book, I do hope you enjoy it!

Cherie,
I pre-ordered Ganymede from Amazon as soon as it was available. (I also ordered Hellbent at the same time.) It’s shipped now, and I’m looking forward to devouring it.
Do you have any plans to write a more direct sequel to Boneshaker, Dreadnought, or any of the other books in the franchise, or do you plan to continue telling almost-standalone stories in the same universe? From what I’ve read you write about Inexplicables, it sounds like it may follow more directly from Boneshaker. Is that a correct impression?
Thanks, and congrats on getting this latest book on the shelves.
Michael

Why hello there, and thanks!
Inexplicables is probably much closer to a Boneshaker sequel, yes. But I like keeping everything at least semi-independent.

Congratulations Cherie! Looking forward to reading Ganymede. Any idea when we can get an audiobook of it?

I wish that yours was the 19th century I’d learned about in history class. I read boneshaker out of curiosity, and quickly moved on to all the others. Thank you for your hard work and unique imagination.

Fabulous! It’s on my to-be-read list already.
The link in the text to the Clockwork Century novels should point to theclockworkcentury.com.

I don’t know how you track your new readers, so lemme just say THIS.
I read quite a bit on Google Buzz, this blog post showed up in my “recommended items”, so I read it.
hmm,
lemme look. Steampunk. Alternate history, possible zombie reference? Feels like the “must read category” to me!
So I just bought book one for my kindle from Amazon. Looking forward to starting it tonight. :D
Thank you!

PaulC,
All of the Clockwork Century books are great fun. Well, the 3 I’ve read have been, and I can’t imagine Ganymede won’t be. Although they are written as equals rather than sequels, Boneshaker is chronologically first, so I’d still argue it’s the best starting point.

I got it the day it came out by the way!
I may just hole up and have a read-or-die day, and re-read all four of these; one right after the other until I get yellow sap poisoning!
Aaaarrrrgh—braaaaiinnns!
Oh, and thank you for being such and awesome and prolific writer so that I can keep getting my fix. :)
