Reminder

Today – 7:00 p.m. at the Tacoma Public Library – I will be there, attempting to be entertaining! I’ve never been to this particular library before, though I’m looking forward to it; and I’m looking forward to seeing all you readers who might be persuaded to show up despite the (frankly kind of awful) weather.
Or maybe it’s waaaaay different in Tacoma. But here in Seattle it’s windy and messy, and I’ll drive through it – you just watch me.
It is my intention to leave at 5:00, which might seem like overkill … but there’s a huge spread when it comes to how long it takes to get between these two cities. I’ve made the drive in as little as thirty minutes, and as much as 2-1/2 hours. Since I’m leaving around rush hour, I’m planning for something close to the worst. If it turns out that I’ve been overly cautious, that’s okay – I’ll find a Taco Bell and make myself comfortable until showtime.

It’s not overkill. I’ve seen traffic headed into Tacoma at a dead stop all the way to Federal Way at that time of day. It’s not always that bad, but you’re right not to take chances.

The library’s a few miles from the nearest Taco Bell, but it’s only a couple short blocks to the only McDonald’s you’re likely to find with a Chihuly glass installation :-p

Katie Down’s is a good resturant, if you have time. Love that place. That’s a Lute favorite.
