Hot damn! Here are today’s stats on my second urban fantasy adventure — this time with my neurotic undead thief, her shady agent, a cigar box full of magical penis bones, a mentally ill former NASA engineer-turned-sorceress, and the continued fabulosity of a Cuban drag queen:

Things accomplished in fiction: Sorted out travel plans; made it to the ATL; made some phone calls; waxed nostalgic; found our way to the Big House and took a real deep breath; realized after the fact that we’d been insulted.

Things accomplished in real life: Not much. Got up and around a little late; tidied the house; took a shower; farted around on the internet; got lunch; wandered down to the coffee bar where the husband is spending his Sunday; parked my ass right here for about four hours … and here I remain (though only for a little longer, as it closes at six).

Other: Any day over 4K is a good day. This was all important stuff, too – filling out the interstitial bits before the last big scene. Not all of it is 100% thrilling to write, but that’s all the more reason I have to make myself do it – and not skimp on it. The setup is important, and it must be handled with care. Besides, it makes sitting down tomorrow that much easier, when I don’t have to backtrack and do clean-up or apply logic-spackle before I get the action underway.
