As some of you know, if you keep up with the Wild Cards consortium and/or the life and times of science fiction and fantasy novelist Victor Milan … Victor has had a rough time of it lately. A few months ago he fell severely ill and was hospitalized for three weeks, undergoing several rounds of surgery; and like a good many of us professional creatives, he is hideously under-insured.

Therefore, our mutual friend and fellow writer Sara Harvey has set up a LiveJournal auction site to help offset his copious medical bills. You can find that auction site here – and I love what she called it. Click and go see.

I do in fact plan to donate something to this auction, though I might hold out for one of my author’s copies of Clementine. This means I won’t be able to chip in until next month (sorry Victor!). But if things wrap up sooner than that, I don’t want to miss the boat — so I’ll throw one of my very, very last copies of a first edition Boneshaker.

Anyway, I’ll find something to toss in the pot, and I’ll mention it here when I do.

So if you’d like to help out one hell of a guy — either by donating an auction item or bidding on one — go check out that community and drop Sara a line. Her contact info is readily available on the profile page. And feel free to link the community (or this post) all over the place.

  1. Had to think on his name a bit but then checking his bio, I saw Cybernetic Samurai. Was into AI when I was in college and loved that book. Hope he gets well and will check out 2victorgospoils
