Here’s today’s progress on the new steam-horror fin de siecle project about ghosts, guilt, elder gods, and monster-hunting in the aftermath of two gruesome murders:
Project: (tentative title) Maplecroft
Deadline: None
New words written: 729 (slow but steady wins the race. right?)
Present total word count: 5237 words
Things accomplished in fiction: Examined a peculiar specimen. Got a little gleefully gross.
Things accomplished in real life: Day-job work; morning run (21 minutes again); worked on Bloodshot rewrites. Once again, that’s pretty much it.
Other: Good news! My Subterranean story “Tanglefoot” is going to Japan! Hayakawa Magazine will reprint it in their June 2010 issue. My steady crawl toward world domination continues apace.
