Well whaddaya know: Seventh Day Adventists against Proposition 8. This is the least embarrassing thing I’ve seen the church do in public in ages.* Good on ya, guys.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34, 35 (NIV)
* Though sadly, the YouTube comments underscore all too well that this movement doesn’t represent the whole of the organization.

I don’t know who Julius Nam is, but I like him a lot.
Very nice quote there, ma’am.

I don’t know him either, but go him, that’s what I say.
And thanks - it’s my favorite Bible quote. It happens in the last supper (more or less), as Jesus is telling them, in effect, “I gotta be going, dudes. But before I do, let me break it down and make it real, real simple …”

Yeah - Will wonders never cease?
I admit, one reason I sat through the whole message was because I wanted to see if anyone I knew had gotten on board :)

Thanks for posting this Cherie! My husband edited this PSA : ) Julius Nam and the others who have been involved in the Adventists Against Prop 8 initiative have given me hope that organized religion and Adventists in particular can still do good in the world. Here’s a news article that quotes Julius as well:
