small victories are sweet too

No work today on Not Flesh Nor Feathers – because I took some time to wrap up drafts on a couple of other projects: “Little Wards” (for TEoP) – finished up Draft #1 and revised it up to Draft #2 status, then sent it off to the editor there; and a new version of The Wreck of the Mary Byrd, which was sent off to Subterranean a few minutes ago.
I really do think it might be fun – at some point in the future, after NFNF is wrapped up – to turn Mary Byrd into a series of two or three novellas featuring one of the same characters. I really love this story. It’s exactly what I want it to be – tragic, Victorian, violent, bleak, and riddled with werewolves. What’s not to like? How could I not want to keep writing on it?
But that’s something to think about later. Now – and tomorrow, and the days following that, I need to bang out a solid draft for the third Eden book.
